Citizen Science
3 reportsCitizen Science is a science-literacy topic concerned with interpreting evidence, probability, sources, uncertainty, and disagreement. Understanding depends on misinformation detection, source verification, and causal inference, including the conditions under which a model, proof, or explanation applies.
Coverage distinguishes how educational or policy interventions; measured outcomes; and definitions and assessment shape the interpretation of Citizen Science. The analysis begins with longitudinal outcomes for definitions and assessment, and uses validated assessments to identify where the explanation succeeds or fails; the account does not overlook that test performance may not capture how people evaluate evidence in real decisions.

Volunteers Will Map Dust Through Overlapping Galaxies
NASA's Overlap Zoo asks volunteers to identify and outline overlapping galaxy pairs so astronomers can study dust silhouettes that dim distant starlight and improve measurements of cosmic distances.
Citizen Scientists Capture Total Solar Eclipse in Spanish Village
A team of citizen scientists and astronomy enthusiasts gathered in Valoria la Buena, Spain, to observe and document the total solar eclipse on August 12, using telescopes and live data feeds to study the Sun's corona under rare atmospheric conditions
Total Solar Eclipse Observed Over Greenland's Remote Fjords
A rare total solar eclipse was observed from the deck of a research vessel in East Greenland, offering scientists and eclipse chasers a unique view of totality above icebergs and glaciers under clear Arctic skies
