Science Report may display programmatic advertising through Google AdSense. This page explains the current advertising model, the categories that may be considered suitable and the boundaries that keep advertising separate from independent editorial decisions.
Current Advertising Model
Science Report uses Google AdSense for programmatic display advertising. The publication does not currently sell direct advertising placements, sponsored articles, paid rankings, premium profiles or affiliate placements, and an advertisement displayed on the site does not create an editorial relationship with the advertiser.
Editorial Separation
Advertisers do not select editorial topics, approve articles, suppress justified criticism or control corrections. Advertising expenditure does not guarantee coverage, favorable wording, a review, a ranking position or any other editorial outcome.
Advertising relationships do not control editorial conclusions.
Accepted Categories
Advertising may be suitable when it concerns science and technology products, education, universities, research institutions, scientific instruments, software, cloud services, cybersecurity, consumer electronics, books, museums, conferences, aerospace, environmental technology, responsible health communication or professional services. Suitability depends on the content of the advertisement as well as its category, including whether its claims are clear, supportable and appropriate for a science-focused audience.
Rejected Categories
Science Report does not knowingly accept illegal or deceptive offers, pseudoscience, unsupported medical cures, tobacco or vaping, weapons, adult content, gambling, extremist material, counterfeit goods, malware, predatory financial schemes, fabricated testimonials or misleading high-risk cryptocurrency promotions. An otherwise permitted category may still be unsuitable when the specific advertisement relies on deception, unsupported certainty or avoidable harm.
Sponsored Content
Science Report does not currently publish sponsored articles, paid partner stories, sponsored reports or paid press releases. If this changes, paid material must be clearly labeled, its commercial nature must be apparent to the reader and it must remain separate from independent reporting, reviews and corrections.
