Editorial Policy
Read the editorial standards that guide sourcing, review, independence, sensitive topics, commercial boundaries, AI-assisted visuals and corrections.
Science Report publishes source-based science journalism under human editorial responsibility, with editorial judgment applied to topic selection, evidence, context, language, corrections and the final decision to publish.
Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions are made by Science Report’s editorial leadership. Advertisers, technology providers, institutions and potential partners do not approve independent editorial content, determine which evidence is included or control factual conclusions, criticism or corrections.
Payment, access, samples, invitations or commercial discussions do not guarantee coverage, favorable treatment, a positive conclusion or protection from justified scrutiny.
Source Standards
Important claims should be supported by identifiable sources such as research papers, datasets, government records, official mission documents, technical documentation or attributable expert commentary. The source should be relevant to the specific claim and sufficiently clear for the evidence, status and limitations to be assessed.
Primary sources are preferred where reasonably available. Press releases may be used as reporting leads or first-party statements, but promotional claims are not automatically treated as independent evidence.
Editorial Review
Editorial review may include checking names, dates, figures, quotations, source links, research status, limitations and relevant context. Headlines and summaries should reflect the substance of the article, distinguish findings from interpretation and avoid exaggerating certainty, causation, risk, novelty or practical significance.
Science Report does not promise error-free publication. Credible correction requests are reviewed against the available evidence.
Fairness and Context
Sources should not be quoted or summarized in a way that materially changes their meaning. Disputed claims should be described as disputed, and serious allegations should be supported by appropriate evidence, proportionate language and the context necessary for readers to understand what is established and what remains contested.
Fairness does not require presenting unsupported claims as equivalent to well-established evidence.
Sensitive Topics
Science Report is not entirely a YMYL publication, but coverage involving medicine, health, clinical research, public health, safety and other high-impact decisions receives additional scrutiny because imprecise wording, unsupported certainty or missing limitations could affect important reader choices.
Content is informational and is not personalized medical, legal, financial, tax, investment, mental-health or other professional advice.
Commercial Content
Science Report currently uses Google AdSense display advertising. It does not currently publish sponsored articles, paid rankings, paid partner content or affiliate links.
Paid visibility does not determine editorial ranking position.
AI-Assisted Workflows
AI-assisted tools may be used for selected illustrations and article cover images. They are not currently used to generate article drafts, translations, published summaries or source monitoring.
AI must not fabricate sources, quotations, names, events, datasets, credentials or affiliations. Human editors remain responsible for checking the purpose and presentation of any permitted AI-assisted visual, verifying article claims and making publication, update and correction decisions.
